Shaya is an incredible girl and her discipline and talent paid off recently when she won the National Junior Dance Competition. So I had her do a lot of spinning for me when I took her portraits as no-one spins better than Shaya. She had a ballerina themed Bat Mitzvah in San Jose at the Corinthian Ballroom in San Jose, CA and it was so much fun and each centerpiece had a pair of ballet shoes hanging from it. I really love this family and wish them many more successes and happiness.

Awe the Bat Mitzvah ….They make me wish I was Jewish ✡️ so I could have one for my son. It might be the most amazing thing ever for a kid to celebrate the bridge between childhood and adulthood. The service is very beautiful as each child talks about a moral or social issue they would like to focus on and then the party, well, it’s off the hook with everyone celebrating! 🎉🎉 In this particular occasion it’s gorgeous, Nola, and she had so much fun I lived vicariously her throughout the evening. Her service 🕎 was at Congregation Emanu-El – San Francisco and the party was at Dogpatch Wineworks. Twas a great night for sure.

Lily had the best party ever at Congregation Kol Shofar in Tiburon, CA. Sheryl Denker of Sheryl Denker Events and Design. I mean look at the smile on her face as she celebrates with all her friends and family! Honestly, there couldn’t be a sweeter girl in the world than Lily. Even with the pressure of all her friends there, she played with her baby cousin and made sure everyone was attended to. I wish her the world and everything in it! xoxo

Just look at the love between these two siblings. Lily had her Bat Mitzvah rehearsal at Congregation Kol Shofar in Tiburon, CA and her big party is coming up soon! She’s such a sweet girl and I am so excited to watch her have the time of her life with her family and friends.

This was the most amazing Bat Mitzvah ever — with an Alice in Wonderland theme, but of course they called it “Allie in Wonderland.” Just look at these Bat Mitzvah photography! These mitzvah images were bursting with fun and excitement. I photographed this with mostly natural light and then used an on camera flash after it got dark. There was a Mad Hatter magician and circus games under red and white striped cabana tents, and a silent disco where everyone was given headphones to tune in and dance to the playlist of their choice. To top it off, the moms did a mob squad choreographed dance surprise for the kids with a hilarious confetti explosion at the end! Booking a fantastic Bar or Bat Mitzvah photographer is so important so you have all these beautiful images as memories or to showcase your images in an album which surely will become a family heirloom!

A stellar Bat Mitzvah at Rodef Sholom for Lauren! I love that one of the kids had a tattoo that said vote! As a Bar and Bat Mitzvah photographer I get to capture so many fun images of their day and there is always so much emotion. It’s such an honor to shoot these images and turn them into family heirlooms. I try to capture all the details and going ons in an artistic way but being a photojournalist type of photographer I prefer to shoot with a long lens not to disturb the conversation. These Bat Mitzvah images are memories to last many life times! Mazel Tov!
