Point Reyes Family Portrait Photographer —

Point Reyes is such a fun escape from Petaluma and we captured some fun family photos of Marina, Harley and their kiddos, Penelope and Hudson. I took one look at Marina’s dress and I was like oh yeah we are gonna do some twirls with that! 💃 Luckily, they just moved from San Anselmo to Petaluma so we get to hang out more often with this awesome family!

These faces! They are all so full of personality. Kingston, the little guy, wasn’t feeling it in the beginning so we all went and got a wicked slush 🍧or a Starbucks to let the sugar kick in. As you can see it did it’s job. Kinyatta is one of the most vivacious, cool and all encompassing love mommas I know and she gives everything her all. I loved photographing her and John and her tribe. Here’s to more sessions infused with sugar! 🍨

To say I love 😍 this family is putting it mildly. O’Meara is the epitome of grace and beauty and her and Bill Cover‘s daughter’s reflect their kindness and radiance. We managed to laugh our way through this photo shoot capturing everyone’s personalities, get a headshot of O’Meara Cover, lifestyle photos and great family shots to be revealed after the holidays.

Family Portrait Photographer in Marin County- Point Reyes Shipwreck, Inverness, CA The Gregors

These charming family portraits were taken in a couple of the most visually interesting Marin County location–the  uber cool Point Reyes Shipwreck in Inverness. So fun being a family portrait photographer and seeing the love between children and their parents.  These images were taken with natural light in an artistic setting.  We played around the bouquet as a prop in these family portraits and had a wonderful time exploring all over Marin County for great locations for a family portrait backdrop!

Nothing beats Marin and Sonoma County in the Fall for family and children’s portrait photography.  The leaves scream bold colors which are perfect backdrop for your kids portrait session and their photos will embolden you to do it every year.  Each backdrop is like a impressionistic painting when you shoot a shallow depth of field which I love to do so children and the family shine in their family photos.  I love Steve Battaglino whom is the best chiropractor in Petaluma should you find yourself in need of one.  His website is Battaglino Family Chiropractic in case you should find you need one.  Best to his family!

Is there anything more inviting than a door?  I love framing children and families in doors in their family portrait photography.  It’s like a welcoming in of sorts and natural light is usually also at it’s best in the frame of a doorway.  It’s not unusual for me to take a jaunt around a family’s neighborhood looking for great backdrops for family and children’s portraits in Sonoma and Marin County.   These little spitfire girls were bursting with personality and I had a ton of fun photographing them in this lifestyle shoot.

Children’s and Family Portraiture is all about making it fun and comfortable for everyone.  Because deep down we all want to be seen and heard and shine!  Natural lighting for family and children’s portraits is also key as you want it be dynamic but I like to shoot with the most shallow depth of field so you have beautiful bokeh.  That way the children or family you are shooting is the star of the photograph and the background enhances it by looking like a gorgeous Monet painting. And voila!  Look at these two sisters whom I just adore to pieces and in fact so does my son, Hudson.  So stinking cute are Lucia and Mila.  xoxo
