These charming family portraits were taken in a couple of the most visually interesting Marin County location–the uber cool Point Reyes Shipwreck in Inverness. So fun being a family portrait photographer and seeing the love between children and their parents. These images were taken with natural light in an artistic setting. We played around the bouquet as a prop in these family portraits and had a wonderful time exploring all over Marin County for great locations for a family portrait backdrop!

Family portraits for the holidays shot in Dillon Beach, Sonoma County with the awesome Reuser Family. They were up for anything! I loved how they all got barefoot and took their family portraits in the ocean. They also wanted to include their family dog in their holiday photographs so he got in them as well! We took family photos at sunset where their reflections were so definitive in these family portraits. I love Sonoma Country for it’s sunsets and Dillion Beach is a great location to have them. They even allow dogs!

Is there anything more inviting than a door? I love framing children and families in doors in their family portrait photography. It’s like a welcoming in of sorts and natural light is usually also at it’s best in the frame of a doorway. It’s not unusual for me to take a jaunt around a family’s neighborhood looking for great backdrops for family and children’s portraits in Sonoma and Marin County. These little spitfire girls were bursting with personality and I had a ton of fun photographing them in this lifestyle shoot.

So much fun photographing the Vallone Family in Petaluma in Sonoma County. I also got to use their gorgeous house in the historic district of Petaluma as the backdrop for their family portraits and of course take children’s portraits of their beautiful little boy for the Historic District of Petaluma Magazine. I love shooting documentary and lifestyle photography as I get to be a bit of a spy in other’s people lives for a couple moments.

I have been so blessed to photograph all of Jake’s birthday parties since he was one! He is such a free spirit and so full of sparkle and love. Look at these faces at his birthday party in Tiburon, in Marin County. I love being a children’s lifestyle and portrait photographer because of all the joy and fun these kids have at these parties. Love him and the whole family. They are so creative and a wonderful family to just hang out with.
