There’s nothing more mystical than an engagement photography session out at Dillion Beach when it’s super foggy. We stomped around the water’s edge with the jagged rocky coast, climbed up to the vibrant succulent cliffs and creeped under the Eucalyptus tree Tunnels tucked away on the beach. We had a ball celebrating their wedding engagement and the photos reflect just that!

A lovely wine country wedding ceremony and reception at the historic Mont La Salle Chapel in Napa, CA. Briana and Matthias know how to pick a location. This little chapel in Napa Valley is divine for wedding photography and when you want to be the best wedding photographer in San Francisco a beautiful venue doesn’t hurt. It’s nestled into the vineyards on top of a hill and has European architecture to make your wedding images have a vintage antiquity to them. The gardens are so beautiful as well to take your formal wedding photographs or the couple portraits. Beautiful magic hour light comes in around sunset highlighting all the traditions so your wedding images reflect the magic of your wedding ceremony and reception. I love taking artistic photos on these grounds and the twinkle lights add the ambiance. Such a beautiful day for Brian and Matthias to tie the knot and their wedding photography in the San Francisco Bay Area. Lucky me to get to be their wedding photographer in Napa Valley, no less!

I always get asked is an engagement photography session necessary and I would say a resounding YES! First of all it’s super fun and you get to connect with your fiance in a way you never have. And secondly, it really allows you to get to know your wedding photographer and the way they work. Then, on your wedding day you have that feeling of trust and, “Oh yes, I remember this!” It really helps you relax on the day of your wedding because you’ve done some of these poses and have seen the engagment session photos and know how it came out! So, Yes, Hire a professional wedding photographer for an engagement session before the big day! Here are some photos from engagement sessions I have photographed in the San Francisco Bay area, Napa Valley and Sonoma.
This engagement photo was taken at Fort Point right smack under the Golden Gate Bridge. It has spectacular views of San Francisco and the bay on the rooftop.
Fun and so in love is what this wedding engagement photo says and we took advantage of magic hour in the vineyards close to the Estate at Villagio in Yountville where they were getting married.

Wow! So much love and kindness were abound this day. Sybil and Adele have been together for thirteen years so it’s about time this beautiful couple made it official. They decided upon Merry Edwards Winery in Sebastopol for their nuptials and flew all the way from Atlanta, Georgia. Both of their mothers and sister’s were in attendance and when Adele walked down the aisle there wasn’t a dry eye anywhere. She was flooded with emotion as well. Their friend and wedding planner, The incredible Peter of Leave it to Peter made sure everything was the best for his long time friends. And when I say he was incredible….really there are no words for how far his imagination and his unparalleled energy goes! The cake by Costeaux in Healdsburg was assembled with a motorcycle cake topping because when Adele and Sybil first met they would ride together. It was really the perfect day and everyone was so filled with gratitude and love. I am honored to have been the wedding photographer at this glorious union between Adele and Sybil. Many blessings!

Mariya and Evan are two of the kindest souls and smart….did I mention smart? Oh boy they smart and they got the degrees from ivy league schools to prove it. But they are kind too which makes you just love them anymore. I loved being the wedding photographer for these two and especially at The Falkirk Cultural Center in San Rafael in Marin County. The place screams to me, The Royal Tenenbaums, the movie that starred Gwenyth Paltrow. So it has all it’s quirky grooves and crannies and the place seems to take on a persona in itself. I really can get lost taking wedding portraits in the gardens or in the parlor on the french love seat —well basically all over the mansion. I love these two and hope they continue to have the best times of their lives together. And being that these two are so smart…I’m sure they’ll do just that.

The Alexander Valley is one of those hidden places not everyone ventures out to but when you do you discover beautiful gems like Trentadue Winery or Francis Ford Coppola Winery. It reminds me of the remote feeling of being at Joshua Tree where you so far removed from all the craziness of the city. Trentadue Winery has so much space that everyone just feels free and Nicole and David loved that about this wedding venue. They wanted their dining experience at their reception to be al fresco so the beautiful extra long farm table feel under the grape vines was absolutely perfect. Loved the artisty of their wedding and the photography reflects the beautiful natural light streaming through all the verdant vines. Wishing this couple many more nights under the stars together!

Reviews describe Beltrane Ranch as downright idyllic, the best bed and breakfast in wine country and The LA Times says, “I never could have dreamed up a more bucolic place.” Now how’s that as an introduction. So no wonder Nicole and Martin jumped at the chance to have their wine country wedding at Beltrane Ranch. It’s truly perfect for your wedding portrait photos and there area so many magical haunts around the property to explore so your wedding photography tells “your” story. Nicole and Martin had an intimate wedding with their closest family and friends and everyone couldn’t have had a more enjoyable time. Bucolic to say the least.

Kristina and Matthew thought that Meadowood in Napa Valley would be perfect for hosting their all white rehearsal dinner party complete with golf on the putting green. It was such a delightful day reminiscent of a scene out of The Great Gatsby as everyone was exquisitely dressed in their perfect white wardrobe. Weddings or rehearsal dinners at Meadowood are reign supreme as the grounds are just to die for.

Meredith and Jeff saw Soda Rock Winery in Healdsburg, CA and absolutely knew this was where they were going to get married. They loved the vineyards dressed in all the fall colors are diving in their wedding portrait photography and I loved that they were game to go to the Jimtown Store which is the country mart and take couple portraits at the old Country Mart in front of the tattered truck and around that area. Meredith got ready at Hotel Healdsburg which also has some stunning backdrops for wedding photography such as the yellow ceramic floral wall and the light that streaks across the staircase. I love being the wedding photographer at Soda Rock Winery because of their divine rustic barn and the way the light creaks in at all levels. It’s a photographers dream. Love Meredith and Jeff to pieces and wish them so much delicious times ahead of them! xoxo
