Love love love being a Family and children’s portrait photographer in Petaluma. I travel to Mill Valley in marin County to photograph children’s and family portraits as well and these adorable boys made the trip totally worth it. We had so much shooting these lifestyle photos and laughed our heads off. These photos capture so much as documenting your kids is the most wonderful thing you can do for them and for you!

Love photographing these family and children’s portraits and this little girl is so darling! We had so much fun as I photographed them at their home and so everyone was so at ease. I love lifestyle photography and getting to be a spy for the day as I look for magical moments. Ummmmmm…..vwatt??? Look into those tide pool blue eyes! Let’s say Monica and Frank can make a cute baby! Love here to pieces. This was so sweet as I also photographed her mommy and Daddy’s wedding at The Julia Morgan Ballroom in San Francisco a few years before. So it was so fun to meet them and Monica’s extended family at The Japanese Tea Garden in San Francisco’s Golden Gate Park to take some family and children’s portraits. Love getting to be a family and kids portrait photographer for my clients after I’ve photographed their wedding. I get to be a part of their journey the whole way through. It’s quite an honor and I’m so amazed by how fast these families grow!

The Covers family portraits were shot in the mustard fields of Petaluma in Sonoma County. I photographed them in an artistic style for a photo session in a local magazine called Historic Life of Petaluma. These photographs were shot photo journalistically and laid out in an editorial style with a write up of this beautiful family and the Foundry Wharf which is a warehouse district the Cover family owns down by the Petaluma River. The Foundry Wharf houses Aqus Cafe and many other business and boutique shops. Photographing the children was a delight as I let them run around their parents properties and shoot them in true photo journalism style which is how I think kids convey their true selves.

Nothing beats Marin and Sonoma County in the Fall for family and children’s portrait photography. The leaves scream bold colors which are perfect backdrop for your kids portrait session and their photos will embolden you to do it every year. Each backdrop is like a impressionistic painting when you shoot a shallow depth of field which I love to do so children and the family shine in their family photos. If you haven’t visited Petaluma in Sonoma County in the fall then you should put it on your list and if you can schedule a family and children’s portrait photography session than you are golden. The fall colors are gorgeous and there are so many trails to use as backdrops in your family portraits with using just natural light. These two little girls are adorable and they had so much fun running up and down the hill we were on. The key is to make children’s portraiture fun so you get their little personalities at their best. Here’s to making memories!

So much fun photographing the Vallone Family in Petaluma in Sonoma County. I also got to use their gorgeous house in the historic district of Petaluma as the backdrop for their family portraits and of course take children’s portraits of their beautiful little boy for the Historic District of Petaluma Magazine. I love shooting documentary and lifestyle photography as I get to be a bit of a spy in other’s people lives for a couple moments.

I was honored to shoot beautiful Lani’s newborn portraits in charming Petaluma. Such sweetness to be a newborn portrait photographer! They are so beautiful and innocent and I wish I could just freeze time a bit to capture these newborns essence a little longer. It goes to fast so it’s so important to take newborn portraits and every stage of the way because when the time is over it’s over! Love children’s portrait photography too!

Look at this radiant red truck all primed and ready to take holiday portraits on and load a couple of Christmas trees up on top! I love photographing Family and children’s portraits for the holidays, These were shot in Sebastopol in, Sonoma County. We also found the most gorgeous persimmons tree with the orange colors so decided to take some photos for fall too–Why Not? I love being a photographer and getting to shoot these awesome families with natural light in all these delicious locations with these artistic photo backgrounds!
